Want The Best Gaming PC For $1,200? Then You Got To Build It Yourself
Building your own gaming PC is really the only way if you want the best of the best, and best for the price. Yes, you could get a decent pre-built with this price point but are you truly getting the best bang for your buck? Probably not.
That’s why I highly recommend building your own PC. When you’re building your own PC, you’re paying less for better quality because you’re paying for individual parts and which cuts additional prices like labor, etc.
Alright, lets say you agree with me and you’ve decide to build your own PC. But you’re a little worried about the whole idea because you don’t know how to build your own computer.
Well. I’m here to tell you that you really don’t have to worry about it. Building a computer is really simple and easy to do. Everyone thinks it’s difficult because technology itself is quite complicated but really it’s nothing more than just putting the components/parts where they belong.
You don’t have to do any programming, soldering, or anything like that. All you have to do is follow some steps and put the parts where they belong inside the case. It’s really as easy as it sounds.

What Does This Epic PC Build Offer
Since this build is an entry to high budget builds, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth for all of the components. You get great performance, features, and quality with this price range.
With this build, you won’t have to worry about anything at 1080p. You’ll be playing games on MAX settings if not high settings at 1080p with no problems. Frame rate will be nothing like you have ever seen before. This build is seriously for the best gaming experience.
If you really enjoy playing games as well as experiencing the best visuals, this build won’t disappoint you and you won’t regret getting this build. It’s simply a beast.
One of the main benefits of getting a higher budget build like this is that you won’t have to worry about upgrading so soon. The build itself should last couple years under good maintenance. I personally built myself a high end computer back in 2013 and I’m still using it without any problems.
High budget builds are truly a good investment because you get great quality builds.

The Build Overview
Note: Component prices fluctuate daily. Check the current pricing here
Brief Component Details
The Corsair Carbide 200R case is a compact ATX tower case. It has lots of places for fan placement for when you decide to add additional fans in the future. For the price, this case is a steal. You get plenty of space for all your components and get simple cable management slots for your cables.
Also the case looks amazing, it’s simple and classy. That’s how I like my cases to look nowadays… guess I’m getting old. 😛
The Intel Core i5-7600K is a powerful CPU and is the latest 7th gen processor. You honestly don’t have to go for a i7 unless you really wanted too. This i5 CPU should be enough for gaming and daily computing. The i5-7600K is also unlocked so you can overclock it to get more power and performance out of this beast. But it’s still fast without the overclocking at stock speed of 3.8Ghz.
You get the power of quad-cores and you get max speed of 4.2 GHz. That is a lot of power for the price. If you had only experienced dual-cores, then this CPU speed will amaze you for sure.
CPU Cooling (Heatsink/Fan):
If you plan on overclocking your CPU, you’ll need good CPU cooling to keep the temperature as low as possible so you don’t fry your CPU. Even if you’re not overclocking, you still need a CPU cooler because temperatures raise under load while you’re gaming.
The Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO is a great CPU cooler and pretty cheap for a CPU cooler. You’ll get better cooling than the stock CPU cooler that come with most CPU (Intel Core i5-6600K doesn’t come with a stock cooler that’s why I put in the 212 EVO).
The MSI Z270 SLI PLUS motherboard is a great motherboard, and nothing beats price and quality. This motherboard is SLI ready so you can add in an additional GTX 1080 in the future for extra raw power. But you honestly don’t need two GTX 1080 unless you running like multiple monitors.
Graphics Card (GPU):
Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce OC is a beast of a graphics card. You get true power with this one and you’ll experience true PC gaming. This will handle games flawlessly at 1080p and some will be playing on 1440p. On the plus side, this card has great cooling potential so you don’t have to worry about overheating. This bad boy will handle your gaming marathons with ease.
This powerhouse is seriously the main beast within this build. Also you’ll be VR ready for the future.
With this budget, you have standard 8GB RAM, you can double it making it a total 16GB RAM if you want. This will be plenty for your gaming needs, but if you want more ram for multi-tasking ability with heavy memory applications then you can buy the 16GB set.
Power Supply (PSU):
The Power supply for this build is a EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 series. But it’s not like a regular power supply, this one is a modular so you can plug in additional cables that you need. No more useless cables coming from the power supply making your build look messy.
You can cable manage easily which will mean better airflow and more pleasing overall look. I love modular power supplies because they make the case look so much nicer and makes cable management so much easier.
Storage (SSD + HDD):
For storage, you get 120GB of SSD and 1TB of HDD. That is plenty of storage for gaming and general needs. You’ll use the SSD for OS and HDD for storage like games, pictures, and programs.
You can decide to go with more HDD storage as well as 240GB SSD if you use a lot of storage.
Optical Drives (ODD):
You don’t have to worry to much about optical drives. The one in this build should be enough for daily use and burning CDs.
Operating System & Peripherals
My advice and recommendation for operating system is always Windows because it’s pretty much the best operating system out there for PC. You can get any Window that you are familiar with but I do recommend Windows 7 64bit or Windows 8.1 64bit for now. If you want the Windows 10, then you can go with that one too.
(Note: I personally don’t recommend pirated or bootlegged version of Windows operating system. Not worth the risk.)
For peripherals, you can go with any of the recommend ones in the peripheral tab but the choice is really yours to make. I listed the ones that I personally use for my gaming because their great for the price and gives amazing performance.
If you need help deciding on peripherals just shoot me a comment below and I’ll be more than glad to help you out.
Internet Connection (Wired or Wireless):
If you want the best gaming performance and experience, go with Ethernet connection. You can never go wrong with this route and it’s simply the cheapest option too.
But if you plan on going wireless with PCI-E adapter or USB adapter, then consider getting a better router for connectivity and performance while connecting to the internet.
My Overall Thoughts
If you truly want the best performance and a good investment for your money, then this high budget build is a great choice. You won’t regret anything because this beast delivers the power you need for awesome gaming experience and more.
